In the 15th century, india and china were the major economic powers in the world, controlling a large share of the world trade at approximately 25% and 30% respectively according to most historical records. However in the next three or four centuries, the percentage of india and china in the world trade reduced drastically as some small western european countries with a very small population developed technology which allowed these countries to become very wealthy. In an outlook magazine article, it is proved that casteism and brahmin control of indian hindu society is largely responsible for the poverty and lack of technology in India.

In the largely christian western european countries, there was no restrictions on reading and writing, so complicating drawings for ships and other equipment could made by the technicians, engineers and this allowed them to develop sophisticated equipment, allowing these countries to conquer the rest of the world, especially India. On the other hand, due to the cunning brahmin officials who controlled the caste based hindu indian society, reading and writing was largely restricted to brahmins, while the lower caste ship builder and other equipment builders did not read or write due to strict casteism in hindu society and had to design mainly from memory

The western european countries which developed science and technology used precise measurement to develop high tech equipment , especially ships, arms and equipment, while the largely illiterate non brahmin equipment makers in India could build only crude and less powerful equipment. The emphasis on science and technology allowed a small country like England to have the most sophisticated equipment, powerful navy and become the most powerful country in the world, while india despite being a large country could not defend itself due to casteism, education restrictions and was invaded by a number of european countries like the portuguese, french and english
